FOOD FOR 2: PLANA'S PANTRY

Located along the busy streets of Mandaluyong you'll find a homey place that serve's an extraordinary cuisine. Plana's pantry is located a few blocks away from where I live and we heard how good the foods were so decided to give it a try.

Owned by a couple who has a passion for great food, it's not a coincidence that the couple became successful in the food business.

The Ambiece:

It's more of a combination of modern mixed with victorian furniture. It is exactly what i imagined my dreamhouse to be so the ambience inside the resto feels homey. It's not spacious but they have long tables that can cater to huge lunch or dinner with friends and families.

The Food:

We were really starving by the time we came since it was past lunch time, so we decided to skip starter and ordered their main entrees directly. I had one of their bestsellers, Plana's sisig (P230). It is served with laing and pesto rice. I never thought that sisig and laing would be a good combo. My partner ordered grilled bavarian sausage(P215) and it's served with pesto rice and veggies on the side.I especially love their rice, for whoever thought of serving pesto rice in their dishes is a genius! It's lightly flavored so it doesn't overpower the main dish. Last, I had their Pure Squeezed Dalandan (P75);it is indeed freshly squeezed.

With it's cozy place, good food and affordable dishes it's a sure hit for food lovers and I'm sure you will enjoy as much as we did. True enough that we indeed have a lot of concept restaurants here and there but you ought to give Plana's a try. We are definitely giving this resto a double thumbs up!
